Ryoko is from a small village in Japan not even on the map. Many demons, ghosts and monsters plagued it, so Ryoko became a demon hunter. She was cursed by one demon to be randomly turned into a blue cat. To recognise her, her parents put a cat bell around her neck because itıs the only thing that stays on her when she changes. Therefore she always ends up naked after every transformation. Ryoko loves noodles and gets drunk easily but she can take care of herself.

A ghost girl, called Lucy, sometimes follows Ryoko; she was a normal eight-year-old girl until a monster killed her. She has normal ghost powers like invisibility, being able to make things float etc. Because of her Œjobı she hasnıt had much schooling so she now goes to Kuzuru High School, where she is cursed furthermore by her own locker.
